How does Zoom! Teeth Whitening work ?      

     Unlike other systems the Zoom! Light generates minimal heat which helps make the procedure comfortable. The Zoom! In-surgery Tooth Whitening System consists of a halide lamp filtered to emit light in the 350nm - 400nm range.

     The Zoom light activated gel was developed after years of research by Discus Dental / USA, the leaders in professional tooth whitening. The gel is a proprietary scientifically formulated, pH balanced Hydrogen Peroxide that, when activated by the Zoom! light, gently penetrates the teeth to remove deep stains and discoloration. The Zoom! light aids in activating the Hydrogen Peroxide and helps it penetrate the surface of the tooth. As the Hydrogen Peroxide gel is broken down, oxygen enters the enamel. The production of highly saturated oxygen from the hydrogen peroxide gel breaks down the size of long chained molecules that stain tooth enamel. (Examples of these molecules are coffee, tea, tobacco, chocolate, red wine, sauce and beetroot.) As these "teeth staining" molecules become smaller they release themselves from within the tooth enamel while the structure of the tooth is unchanged.
